A Senior Consultant and the Associate Director of the Institute of Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery, Dr Karthik Mathivanan comes with over ten years of experience in his chosen field. He is a renowned liver transplant surgeon with expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic transplants and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeries. Throughout his professional career, Dr Karthik has been a core team member in more than 2,000 transplant surgeries, performing complex and high-risk liver surgeries with proficiency in living donor transplants. He is a pioneer in advocating for ‘organ preservation’ that has resulted in successful transplants. His areas of expertise include treatment of acute liver failures, performing ABO incompatible transplants, swap transplants, domino transplants and split liver transplants and transplants on elderly recipients.
